Italian citizenship in Tennessee

US records need an apostille from the Secretary of State of the issuing state and a translation into Italian.

It might. Since March 28, 2025, anyone born outside Italy who holds another citizenship is recognized only if an exception in Law 74/2025 applies. The main one: your father, mother, grandfather or grandmother holds, or held at death, only Italian citizenship. The others: one of your parents lived in Italy for 2 consecutive years as an Italian citizen before you were born, or you filed your application, had an appointment date assigned, or filed a court case by March 27, 2025.
